Holiday Details

At Drybeck Farm you’ll enjoy a world away from the pressures and stresses of everyday life. All you have to do is turn up and slip into a different pace of life. You can even relax under the stars in their soothing hot tub.

You’re situated in the heart of the beautiful Eden Valley in Cumbria. Cumbria is home to the Lake District National Park, famous for its natural beauty and a source of inspiration for artists, musicians and writers. The historic Hadrian’s Wall is also located in this county and is deemed a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

While there are also two quirky renovated gypsy caravans at Drybeck Farm site suitable for couples, families are best-suited to the traditional Mongolian yurt. Known by the owners as ‘Croglin’ the handcrafted yurt nestles on the river bankand is made from locally-grown timber.  Step through the doors into a stunning, beautifully-finished interior with vintage furniture and soft furnishings – either re-cycled or personally chosen by the owners. The wood-burning stove will chase away any evening chill. On fine evenings you can sit outside by a roaring fire whilst listening to the owls and the splash of fish jumping in the river. You’ll wake up to the sounds of the birds and the river.

Croglin has a luxurious double bed. Kids can sleep in sleeping bags (bring you own) or – by prior arrangement – two single beds can be provided in addition to the double. You need to request that from the owners in advance. The yurt has it’s own fully equipped kitchen in a separate and beautifully crafted wooden cookhouse alongside the yurt.

In summary, you can expect luxurious outdoor living: a back to nature experience without compromising on comfort.  TripAdvisor reviews for this place are gushing, with 99 out of 105 reviews giving a rating of ‘Excellent’!

Also worth a look is Trainline. They buy up seat allocations in bulk, meaning they can sometimes pass on better discounts than rivals.
