The Som Dona 4* hotel in Majorca has 39 rooms and men are banned in every one.
You’ve got to be female and over the age of 18 to stay here.
Let’s take a closer look at the hotel and why they’ve adopted a female only policy.
Where is the hotel?
Som Dona is located in the picturesque fishing village of Porto Cristo (Majorca) known for its quaint streets and majestic caves. More photos below.
Why female only?
Annie Bennett, a travel writer, told the i-newspaper it’s aimed at women who want to feel comfortable and secure in a female-only space. She said:
Women are going on more holidays with groups of friends, so I think this hotel is filling a gap in the market.
Some women feel more comfortable in a female-only environment and I can see it appealing to friends who want to spend a few days switching off.
Security is an issue for women in hotels and it is increasingly usual to have a woman-only floor, which has proved very popular with women who are travelling alone for work.
What will the hotel offer?
According to their website, the hotel will focus on self-care and wellness.
From their website:
A new space for women who are looking to disconnect from the stress of daily life that offers personalised care tailored to their needs.
The best healthy cuisine made with ‘zero-kilometre’ products, a wellness area, pool, sky lounge and a unique atmosphere designed for women.
How much is it?
Rooms can be booked at the hotel from April this year and cost from £16pppn.
