For a child with autism or other sensory issues, a visit to a theme park can be hugely overwhelming.
Big crowds, flashing lights, loud noises, rides and smells can all be too much.
Which is why we’re so pleased to hear, that Dollywood, the theme park founded by Dolly Parton has a ‘calming room’.
Visitors can head there for a quiet and relaxing experience.
It’s a simple room as you’d expect – low level lighting, sensory soothing items and comfy chairs.
We really hope more attractions and theme parks follow Dolly’s lead.
I know some are in the UK but let’s hope more make their way into the parks.
Dollywood is based in Tennessee in the US in a place called Pigeon Forge.
