Have you heard of the ‘Tot Tax’ !? Buying toddlers their own plane seats is FOUR TIMES cheaper than having them on your lap!

Did you know it can be up to four times CHEAPER to buy an extra seat on budget flights for your toddler than to have them sit on your lap!! This sounds like a win, win surely! You don’t have to endure hours of wriggly fidgets on your lap… and you save money!

Easyjet charges a ‘tot tax’ of £22 each way for infants, while Ryanair , Jet 2, and Monarch charge slightly less at £20 and Aer Lingus £19.

On previous flights, I’ve found many airlines do not make it clear (on booking) that children aged 6 months – 2 years can in fact travel in their own seat if strapped into an approved car seat.

TOP TIP: The difference between the infant tax charge and full seat price can mean it pays to search around!
