  • "This is a brilliant little cottage in a great location."

The standard of fittings, furniture etc is high given it is used as a holiday let. I met David who Co owns this property, and he was friendly and gave the impression that nothing would be too much trouble if you asked him. Unfortunately my wife took ill during our stay and we had to cut our visit short. But just as soon as we are fit and able we will return.

  • "The cottage has everything you would need and more, very comfortable & a lot of thought has gone into the furnishings."

Nice welcome gift of choccies, cider, prosecco which we found in the kitchen, thankyou. Ideal location too and plenty of places to eat nearby plus a Morrisons to do a grocery shop Our only disappointment was there was no meet & greet, so noone to explain to us oldies how everything worked. I did text the owners on our first evening as we couldnt figure out how the hot tub worked despite the 12 step guide leaflet, he did reply quickly and said they were away until Wed but did text a few tips, but it was beyond us, as we've never used one before, so no hot tub which is why we booked that cottage He did pop round Wed when they got back but with the storm due to arrive, we left for our 7hr trip home, so too late for us. Maybe get a friend or family to do the initial meet & greet when youre away in the future as thats important to us ?

Well equipped and even though the property is within the grounds of the owners garden it is totally separate having it has its own pathway and is not overlooked. Lovely views across the country side. We both loved being able to relax in the hot tub of an evening. Had a great time and would recommend this place.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Northlands Country Cottage and we didn’t want to come home!"

The welcome gifts were very gratefully received and the hosts were extremely friendly. Dave showed us how to keep the hot tub up to temperature and gave us some top tips for exploring the local area. Our favourite things about the accommodation: - the reclining sofa and the space upstairs - Spacious bedrooms with plenty of storage space - Loved the roof terrace and hot tub Why we loved the area: - we liked being in close proximity to Plymouth but also close to countryside and beaches - The waterfront area in Plymouth (Barbican) is really nice with bars and restaurants (park at Harbour car park and then walk round) - We loved Wembury for walks and lovely beach. Anything that could’ve made it better: - no dishwasher which I hadn’t realised but it was fine just the three of us and having simple meals - There is road noise from the village road, again didn’t spoil our stay but I thought we were slightly more rural - Attention to detail with some of kitchen equipment and crockery etc, just a couple of cracks and chips in glasses, and the kitchen knives were blunt so quite hard to chop even grapes

  • "The cottage was absolutely beautiful, we cannot fault it."

It is even more lovely than the pictures on the listing do it justice for! It was spotless on arrival. The beds were really comfortable. The lazy boy chairs in the lounge were amazing, so nice to relax in in the evening after a busy day out. The hot tub was lovely, and a big hit with the kids! It was a real home from home, it had everything you would need. The kitchen was equipped with everything you would need, even a cafetiere for that much needed morning coffee. We were also left a little welcome package of drinks, chocolates, and milk, and some tea and coffee, lovely after a long drive down from Manchester. The grounds around the cottage are gorgeous, and the path from the car to the cottage is really cute with lots of different animal statues which the kids enjoyed finding. There is also a great pub, a 2 minute walk, which served lovely food. We really had the best week, and were so sad to have to return home. I wouldn't think twice about booking again if we were to come back to the area. Thank you!

With a pub, restaurant, chippy and a garden centre that does great food just a short walk away... What's not to like. Plenty to do in the surrounding area from beach walks at wembury and bovisand, Plymouth just 10 min drive away for shopping and a visit to Plymouth gin distillery a must in the Barbican area on the harbour.... Plus Dartmoor only half an hour drive away... All in all had a brilliant time

  • "The cottage exceeded expectations."

My wife is obsessed with cleanliness, and the initial arrival at a place of stay is always a nervy time for me (I’m the one who always books), as her reaction sets the mood for the duration of the stay. So we were both delighted with the immaculate presentation of the cottage. The lounge area is an absolute joy to relax in, with a very comfortable almost fully reclining sofa and huge tv if you’re having an evening in. The hot tub was great to unwind in after all our days hiking (we hadn’t anticipated the weather to be so good so decided to make the most of it!). The cottage is located near enough everything but still felt out of the way and secluded. Thank you for a wonderful stay in Brixton, we would thoroughly recommend a week or longer here!
