The Show
Based on Raymond Brigg' much-loved children's book, the wildly successful live stage adaptation of The Snowman makes another return to London's Peacock Theatre this festive season. The Birmingham Repertory Theatre's version, now in its 18th year has been cemented as one of London's most treasured Christmas traditions. The perennial family favourite that has transported generations of families into a winter wonderland comes to life once again for audiences new and old in this spellbinding adventure.

The story follows a young boy and his magical snowman which comes to life on Christmas Eve. The two set off on a night-time quest to the North Pole, meeting a host of characters along the way from dancing penguins, reindeer and of course, Father Christmas.

Watch captivated as the snowman flies through the night sky above you, escaping the clutches of the evil Jack Frost, before returning home in time for Christmas morning.

Featuring Howard Blake's beautiful "Walking in the Air" performed by a live orchestra alongside charming choreography by Robert North and directed by Bill Alexander, this is the perfect Christmas treat for all the family.

The History of The Snowman
First published in 1978 Howard Briggs' picture book was adapted into an short animated TV film which first aired on 26th December 1982, where it captured the nations heart as well as being nominated for an Academy Award.

The stage show adaptation takes influence from both the book and subsequent film and has been delighting audiences since its opening night in 1993. From the very first night, audiences loved it, so much so that it made its second appearance four years later in 1997. Attracting interest from a number of London producers, it was eventually agreed that the show would be co-produced with the Sadler's Wells and would run at the Peacock Theatre.
