We all know it costs a lot more to go on holiday during the school summer break.
But did you know there can be a HUGE difference is price depending which week you choose to go away?
A study by currency firm FairFX looked at the costs of over 700 holidays to our favourite hotspots like Majorca, the Algarve and the Canaries.
It found that week 3 is the most expensive and week 6 is the cheapest (see chart below). And the difference is shocking!
A family travelling on 27 August could save an average of £459 compared to a family travelling on 6 August!
As you can see from the chart, breaks in the August school summer holidays get cheaper as each week passes – with the exception of ‘hot’ week 3 which is the most expensive.
This could really help with family holiday research next time you’re planning to go away.
