Benefits of a low deposit holiday

1. Book now pay later
Low deposit holidays allow you to secure the trip without paying the money upfront. As you’ve paid a deposit it means the balance will be that bit less.

2. Time to save
Depending how close your holiday is putting down a deposit will give you time to save and pay monthly.

3. Easier planning
Going on a family holiday involves a lot of work; arranging time off, sorting passports, organising pet care, planning your holiday itself – by booking a date well in advance gives you more breathing room to get everything in place.

4. Fixed price
We all know flight and hotel prices can vary greatly – by booking ahead with a deposit your price is secured and often much lower, as it’s booked in advance.

Common questions

Q: I paid a low deposit when I booked my holiday. I now want to cancel, what can I do?

A: The travel company’s booking conditions will set out the cancellation terms. Normally you’ll be required to pay the full deposit and then forfeit this amount.

Do ensure you always read the terms and conditions before booking your low deposit holiday.

Q: Am I saving money with low deposit holidays?

You are still paying the full price of the holiday whether you pay all upfront or installments. For example, if you see an offer whereby there is a reduction in the deposit (for example, a deposit of £75 instead of £175, you still need to make up the £100 difference within a number of weeks of booking. And if you do cancel, the full deposit of £175 is due. However, a low deposit holiday will fix the overall amount – for example, if you didn’t book it / pay later the price might have gone up by the time you decide to pay it all in one go.
