If you are in an area that is cold, you will require a thicker, better-insulated cover to retain heat. however, if you live in an area that receives heavy rain fall or no shelter think about what weight the cover would hold, without damaging the cover or the hot tub.
Features
Have a think about the features the cover comes with. A cover with straps and buckles is far better, as it will protect your tub in windy conditions and make for a tighter better fit.
Some covers have a zip top, so the whole cover doesn’t need to be removed with each use, but check the quality and design of the zip to ensure it would still be weatherproof and durable.
Insulated covers are far more energy efficient and tend to reduce the cost of heating your tub- however tend to be more expensive than un-insulated ones.

Make sure the measurements are big enough. It is okay for the cover to be a bit big. It still does it’s job. However, a cover that is too small will never insulate properly.
Don’t forget that, even though your hot tub might look square, it might not actually be square, so always measure both the length and width to confirm that they are either the same or different.
